JNCMED's Advanced Wound Care Dressing

Silicone Dressing

Silicones are long-chain polymers that contain repeating chains of silicone, oxygen, and other elements. They have a hydrophobic soft silicone layer that is tacky to touch, preventing the dressing from sticking to the wound but still enabling it to adhere to the surrounding skin. This helps to minimise patient trauma during dressing changing.

Hydrocolloid Dressing

Hydrocolloid dressings are biodegradable, waterproof, breathable, and adheres to the skin. They provide a moist and insulating environment to promote wound healing and are widely used in the treatment of mildly exuding wounds, like minor burns or bed sores.

Foam Dressing

Foam dressings may be used as primary and secondary dressings for partial- and full-thickness wounds with minimal, moderate, or heavy drainage; as primary dressings to provide absorption and insulation; or as secondary dressings for wounds with packing.

Alginate Dressing

Alginate dressings are produced from the calcium and sodium salts of alginic acid. They may be used on full-thickness burns, surgical wounds, split-thickness graft donor sites, Mohs surgery defects, refractory decubiti, and chronic ulcers.

Hydrogel Dressing

Hydrogel is an amorphous gel that gently increases the moisture level within the wound, encouraging moist wound healing through autolytic debridement. Hydrogels are indicated in dry, sloughy wounds with mild exudate, partial thickness wounds.

Silver Ion Dressing

Silver Ion Dressings release a steady amount of silver to the wound and provide antimicrobial or antibacterial action. They may be used as primary or secondary dressings to manage minimal, moderate, or heavy exudate in acute and chronic wounds, including burns, surgical wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, and leg ulcers. Silver dressings may also be used under compression.

Negative Pressure Wound Therapy Dressing

Negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), also called vacuum-assisted wound closure, refers to wound dressing systems that continuously or intermittently apply subatmospheric pressure to the system, which provides a positive pressure to the surface of a wound. NPWT has become a popular treatment modality for the management of many acute and chronic wounds.

Hemostatic Dressing

Hemostatic dressings are widely used to minimize bleeding. The application of procoagulants in control of hemorrhage may lead to thrombosis or disseminated intravascular coagulation.
